January to March
During the christmas shutdown changes were made to the logging
of the live output for OFCOM. Test recordings began from the
1st of January capturing the programs using the computer to
record the output in MP3.
John Murphy completes 42 quizzes to be used for the new six
week programs of the rhapsody service.
In February the hospital inform us the new CT scanner to be
installed in the new diagnostic unit will require two of the
am aerials to be moved.
On the 27th February the connection to the new bedhead system
is completed by the station engineer. Staff members are
advised of the work behind the scenes by the trust,league and
radio in getting this completed.
In March a patient on ward 10 Frederick Ellis donated £30.
The twenty four hour service could display what's playing and
what's coming next.In addition the left hand side could
display alternate messages or pictures triggered by what's
playing.If relations were better with the bed head company we
could have had an ever changing web page displayed to those
listening to the radio service.
Presenting staff were
able to display this page on their terminal when taking over
from rhapsody or handing back to rhapsody.
Staff in March are advised how to tune patients in using the
new bed head terminal. This gained from our own tests on a
terminal.
In March Jacquie Baker and Christine Whelan from the trust
spend a morning at the radio with the station engineer to get
an understanding of the rhapsody set-up.
