Summer House Building Work Gallery

At the end of April beginning of May 2000 the first of the work to convert the old medical records building was commenced.

Work progressed by the hospital throughout May June and early July.

The hospital were responsible for providing essential services and the actual layout of the rooms. Radio Heatherwood staff were responsible for the move of equipment and the installation of all transmission equipment.

Wiring commenced in June 2000 by the station engineer and the last of the jobs related to the move were not completed until April 2001. A visual indication of the progress is shown below.

The managers digital camera came in very handy during the transformation. These set of pictures were taken in June & July 2000.

A Look At Radio Heatherwood's Past:-

Time for a change

In 1976 the first regular service is launched from a room 12ft by 12ft in the ground floor of maternity.

In the 1980's another room was added this allowed radio heatherwood to have two broadcast studio's.

In the 1990's another room was added which was turned into the new reception and this included tea making facilities.

In 2000 Radio heatherwood vacated it's premises in the maternity unit and moved to the summer house.
